thank you for viewing this website. it really means alot. this area has nothing much to offer other than assorted information and stream of consciousness blabber. so, you can go to the rest of the website if you'd like. or not. whatever floats your boat.
lol ok.
this website uses remnants of html and css from a school project that i'd worked on too much to just throw away. it was recycled here. the colors are taken directly from weezer's pinkerton album and i think they look pretty okay. the background is some random snow texture from half-life 2 ran through many color shifts and dithering. it creates a nice moody texture. i believe some pages also use perlin noise which has also been through bayer dithering. if you can't tell, i like dithering alot.
what's a good recipe?
i enjoy japanese cuisine alot. if you're looking for a quality breakfast, here's an idea:
japanese-ish salmon breakfast
you'll need:
- 100g salmon (however much you'd like)
- miso soup
- vinegar
- water
- any vegetable (cucumber, carrot, onion)
- japanese style soy sauce
- salt and pepper
- any cooking oil
- 1 to 2 eggs
- a small bowl of rice (preferably white sushi or jasmine)
make pickles the night before or morning of, mix a 3:1 ratio of vinegar to water and add your sliced vegetables with light salt and pepper. let rest in a jar or other container in the fridge. also, cook rice and place in fridge because everyone is lazy in the morning.
heat the oven to 375F (190C) and bake salmon (light salting optional) skin side down for 10-12 minutes.
while salmon is cooking, boil miso soup (follow whatever instructions on package) and heat a pan on low-med with any cooking oil. in a bowl, lightly whisk egg and season to taste.
pour egg contents into pan. wait 10 seconds, then stir gently. this adds texture. when bottom side is cooked, roll into an omelette.
salmon should be @10-12 minutes. remove from oven and broil for 1-2 minutes.
plate dish with salmon and soy sauce, egg omelette, rice, miso soup and pickles for a well rounded and fulfilling meal. enjoy.
what about another breakfast recipe?
sure.
boris's blins: slavic crepes
produces ~4 units
you'll need:
- 3/4 cups (180mL) whatever flour
- 3/4 cups (180mL) milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- salt
- any cooking oil
- any sweet or savory toppings (strawberry, peanut butter, jam, mayonez)
- the widest pan in your cupboard
mix milk and egg in mixing bowl with a whisk or fork. slowly add flour to prevent clumping. texture should be sticky but runny. add milk or flour to compensate.
add salt and sugar. you can use more or less of either to taste but never omit.
heat pan to med and use paper towel to get an even layer of oil.
pour 1/4 of the mixture into pan and swirl to cover the entire pan. when small bubbles appear on the top side, flip. it tastes better when you flip it without using a spatula and looks impressive but be careful
wait ~2 minutes and plate.
repeat.
serve with whatever toppings you like.
what's up with the world?
i think people are just trying to survive. don't be too hard on one another.
